Featuring Art of Marie Dagys Crites Ever since my teen years, I have been inspired to recreate God’s world through landscape and seascape paintings, both realistic and abstract. I was born in Husum, Germany, a seaside village, and have always loved the sea. But I am interested in all facets of life and art, including photography and this is shown in the wide variety of my work. I studied art in Europe and Virginia Commonwealth University where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. I have been awarded a purchase prize in the Poplar Lawn Art Show, Petersburg, VA (1974); Honorable Mention in contract design in the Institute of Interior Business Designers competition in High Point, NC. (1978); and Honorable Mention in the juried “Virginia in Bloom” show. I am a retired Project Manager and live in Sutherland, Virginia with my husband. I draw inspiration from Monet, Renoir, Picasso, Vaclav Spala, H. Potthast and Jeanne Dobie. I work in various mediums including acrylic, oil, watercolor, and photography and enjoy learning new techniques. Actual shipping costs apply for all art work. |
